UPVC Replacement Door Handles
The handles on your doors wear out with time and require to be replaced. It is essential to be able to match the dimensions of the handles that were previously used when replacing them.
The top screw position as well as the lever and keyhole size are the three measurements that you need to check. Use the size guide to assist you.
Inline Lever/Lever
A lever or lever door handle is a contemporary handle that can be installed on doors that are new or replacement. This style door handle is available in a variety of designs and finishes. A number of manufacturers make this type of handle, including Avocet ERA, Fullex, Hoppe, Mila, Millenco & Yale.

Fab and Fix Windsor Inline Sprung Lever Door Handle
The uPVC/Composite handles are made from robust materials, and are perfect for multi-point lock doors that require a strong design. The handles are inline, and they use the same screws and spindle to secure them. They can be easily mounted on new or existing uPVC/Composite door.
The design of the sprung lever allows the handle to be set and angled for comfortable operation and is suitable for all users. The handle has been endurance tested to 200,000 cycles, this will ensure the quality of the finish and performance of the handle over time. The sprung lever can be reduced to accommodate the widest range of locks. This is useful in doors that are narrower, where the cylinder is situated further back in the door. A shortened lever can also be used on doors with a latch that can be activated with the thumb inside.
Lever Pad
A Lever Pad upvc door handle operates differently from lever-type handles on doors. These handle types can either use a single spindle (inline) or independently from both sides using two offset spindles or inline (pad). They are typically used on UPVC doors with double glazing. They come in a range of finishes & variations.
The handles are available in a variety of finishes including White chrome and Gold. The finish meets BS EN 1670:2007 Grade 5 and is also resistant to corrosion, which gives the handle a high level of durability and performance for its intended use.
All of the UPVC lever pad designs come with the spindle and screws which allow them to be put on a new or existing uPVC door. The backplate fixation centers of 211mm allow for a wider handle, which is typically beneficial when replacing an old or faulty multi-point door lock mechanism. These levers for handles are also spring-loaded, thereby solving the issue of door handles sagging out of their horizontal position when they are not being used.
It is crucial to match up the dimensions of the PZ for both the multipoint lock as well as the uPVC doors when selecting a replacement UPVC spindle and handle. This measurement is also referred to as 'handle centres' or cylinder centres'. It is important for matching the correct handles.
After you have identified the proper PZ size, you will need to ensure that the push and lever pads are shaped to fit the American with Disabilities Act compliant handles that you need for your door. These are typically of a round or square design with an internal lever as well as an external push pad.
Most of the UPVC lever pads that we offer are sprung, which means that they will return to their horizontal position when they are not being used, instead of hanging out and possibly sticking in the frame. This stops draughts and cold air from entering a property. The majority of UPVC lever pad style handles are available in left and right handed models, allowing them to be put on either side of the doors.
Euro Cylinder
Cylinder locks are found on uPVC and other kinds of doors. They operate by using a key to unlock a cylinder that will reveal pins that can be aligned to those in the lock body and allow them to rotate an revolving cam, opening the door. Euro cylinders can be fitted with up to six pins, with both internal and external doors generally needing different levels of security.
The choice of the correct cylinder is essential; it is dependent on the way your doors and handles are used. External doors, for instance, should be fitted with cylinders with greater security while doors inside can be secured using an ordinary cylinder. Additionally, certain cylinders are available with extra features which can enhance security, for instance anti-drill or anti-bump features.
A euro cylinder must be measured correctly to ensure that it is the correct size for your door. The cylinder should be measured from the hole in the center of the fixing screw to the end of the cylinder and the thumb turn if you have one. It is recommended to do this with the lock in place however when this isn't possible, you can remove it to take measurements. It is important to avoid having a cylindrical lock that extends beyond the handle or escutcheon. This can make it vulnerable to lock snapping attacks.
The design of the latest cylinders comes with anti-drilling as well as bump resistance features. These are designed to reduce attacks by forcing cylinders to rotate in a new direction. This helps deflect the attack and keep your doors safe.
Some cylinders are designed to resist snapping. window handles is an increasingly common method of attack on cylinders, which is where the break line of the lock is smashed with a special tool to break the front of the cylinder and allow the door to open. This is a much faster and simpler method to gain access than a multipoint locking system. It also leaves no evidence of the break-in which could make it difficult to prove insurance claims.
Spring Cassette
This spring cassette sits within the base of your door handle's backplate, supplying a spring-loaded solution that returns your multipoint lock handles to their rest position after usage. The handles were previously equipped with no spring and would droop when the locking mechanism was disconnected. This component is the most effective way to fix this problem. It also prevents your upvc door from becoming stuck in either the open or closed position, as they aren't easy to close manually.
These spring cassettes have been specifically designed for use with multipoint locks that are sprung, they will not fit multipoint handles that are not sprung and you must have a hole specifically cut in your backplate to allow these to fit (please see image for technical diagram). They are a replacement for broken or missing cassettes within the backplates of door handles of numerous kinds of uPVC doors. They have an elongated square that accommodates an 8mm spindle and they are supplied individually.
These spring cassettes are a fantastic value for money solution to the issue of handles on your doors sliding. They are easy to fit and will prolong the life span of your uPVC doors.
